Halloween card ideas

Perfect pumpkin card

Step-by-step

1. Die-cut five small ovals of orange spotty paper using the template. Glue together symmetrically, with an oval at front and centre. Using the templates, glue on eyes and a mouth in black card. Add a stalk in brown card, then distress with patches of brown chalk.

2. Cover the front of the card blank with the chequered side of the Pumpkin Parade paper. Add an 8cm wide strip of the Trick or Treat green wood effect paper on the right.

3. Die-cut a tag from orange card and reinforce the hole with black card. Add a twine tie. Add the greeting with a mix of alphabet stickers. Stick the tag to the top left of the card front.

4. Mist two paper leaves with Cosmic Shimmer and leave to dry. Distress the leaves with brown chalk. Glue them to the front using the pumpkin as a guide. Die cut two flourishes from olive green card and stick them by the leaves. Add the pumpkin on top with sticky foam pads.

Step-by-step

1. Die-cut a large scalloped rectangle from purple card. Use the negative to make the scallop border by cutting away the two longest sides. Cover the front of the card with kraft card. Stick the borders vertically down the front of the card.

2. Cut a strip of spotty paper that is wide enough to slightly overlap the borders. Wrap and secure green ribbon and twine around the card.

3. Create the topper with a shape from the Kraft Journal pack and a scalloped circle backed with purple paper. Glue in place.

4. Use the template to cut a bat shape from black card. Punch two green circles for eyes. Stick the bat in place with sticky foam pads. Add a black bloom beneath, with a bow of green twine.

5. Add the sentiments using letter tiles from the Finnley alphabet sheet.

Step-by-step

1. Cut a piece of orange card slightly smaller than A6 and stick to the front of the card. Cut a smaller piece of black woodgrain textured card. This will be embellished before sticking to the card.

2. Add the stickers from the Arsenic & Lace sheet, starting with the gravestone. Leave 4cm at the base for the ribbon to be added later. Stick on the owl, taking it off the card at the top and then trimming down. Use a circle sticker for a moon.

3. Glue a photo corner around the decorated card piece and then glue the whole thing to the front of the card. Add a strip of pom-pom trim across the base, then top with ribbon.

4. Die-cut three vine shapes from green card and glue at the base on top of the ribbon. Place a pumpkin sticker on top of the vines using sticky foam pads, then add a greeting. Finish with lots of tiny sticky gems to look like stars.

Step-by-step

1. Cover the front of the card blank card with orange patterned paper. For the moon, die-cut a circle of white glitter card and stick to the top-left, slightly off edge.

2. Unpeel the haunted house from the Ghost Town stickers and place it in the lower right- hand area of the card. Overlap the moon at the top. Top with the ghost sticker on sticky foam pads.

3. Stick a small pumpkin sticker at the base of the haunted house. Using a black fine tip marker pen, colour in the eyes, nose and mouth for better definition.

4. Add the ‘trick’ and ‘treat’ greetings in black glitter letter stickers, as shown, finishing with orange letter stickers. You may need to add extra glue to help the letters stick to the moon.

Step-by-step

1. Cover the front of an A6 tent-fold card blank with layers of orange card and dotty paper as shown.

2. Die-cut and assemble the fox using coloured card. Cut thin strips of white card and ink the edges. Cover the fox head with it.

3. Stick the fox onto a die-cut stitched label. Add a stamped and die-cut sentiment. Tie ribbon around the top.

4. Die-cut two cloud borders from card and stick to the card front. Apply glue to only the left and right edge and to the bottom of the red cloud.

5. Insert the tag and embellish the finished card design with some gems.

Step-by-step

1. Using some black card, make an A6 tent-fold card blank. Mat and layer green dotty paper onto purple card measuring 14x10cm leaving  small border.

2. Emboss white card using the Halloween Backgrounds embossing folder and then blend with Spiced Marmalade, Dusty Concorde and Crushed Olive Distress Inks and spritz with Goosebumps Texture Spray before die-cutting with Blueprints 15.

3. Die-cut two dripping borders from black card using CC Designs Halloween die set and attach onto the right and bottom edges of embossed panel before attaching onto the base panel.

4. Die-cut the candlestick from black card and add some Empire Gold and Silver Gilding Wax then add onto the base panel using sticky foam pads.

5. Die-cut two skulls from the Make A Card die set, add some Renaissance Gold Gilding Wax and attach to base panel. Finish with a printed sentiment.

Step-by-step

1. Die-cut four puffy cloud borders from patterned paper and grey card. Stamp the sentiment onto one cloud. Add some faux stitching along the edges of the clouds. Die-cut two bats from black and white card.

2. Ink a die-cut white card circle using the Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey Distress Inks. Stick one die-cut bat onto it, leaving the ears unstuck.

3. Trim and mount the puffy clouds onto an A6 tent-fold card blank. Use sticky foam pads for the lower border.

4. Stick the circle with the bat onto the clouds, tucking it under the cloud’s edge, with the bat’s ears over the top. Add a bat in the top-left corner.

5. Embellish with a sprinkle of gems to finish.

Step-by-step

1. Make a black A6 tent-fold card blank. Mat and layer two coordinating papers from the Taylored Expressions paper pad onto purple card measuring 14x10cm, leaving a small border around the edge.

2. Wrap black pleated ribbon around where the papers meet and then add a length of narrow silver ribbon.

3. Die-cut the spider’s web and two small spiders from black card using the CC Designs Halloween die and a large spider die from Sizzix Candlelight Fright die set. Position the die-cuts onto decorated panel as shown.

4. Emboss purple card with the Halloween embossing folder and fussy cut the word ‘Fright’. Ink the edges with Black Soot and add some Glossy Accents to the centre of the letters.

5. Position the ‘Fright’ word onto the decorated panel and add alphabet stickers above and below to create the spooky sentiment. Mat the finished panel onto the card front.
