This sweet character card is great for men’s birthdays and is a fun way to show off your favourite patterned papers. We’ve got a step-by-step guide plus a handy template, so you can make this design yourself!
You will need
Your basic card kit, plus…
Blue, green, white & yellow card
Floral & spotty patterned papers
Black Fineliner pen
Small circle punches
Step 1 Cover the front of your card blank with green card. Add a strip of floral paper along the bottom edge.
Step 2 To make the background for your snail, snip a panel of blue card with scalloped scissors. Top this with a slightly smaller panel of white card and add a strip of floral paper.
Step 3 Use your template to paper piece the little snail! Make his body first, then add the shell shapes on sticky foam pads.
Step 4 Add a swirl of craft wire to the snail’s shell – tuck one end behind the snail’s shell and fix in place with a little tape.
Step 5 Now make the snail’s feelers! Thread shaped beads on to short lengths of craft wire. Fold each length of wire in half to make two cute feelers and stick them behind the snail’s head with tape.
Step 6 Doodle on the snail’s mouth and make his eyes with punched circles. Now fix the snail to your card front with sticky foam pads, then finish with a ribbon bow.
