Christmas blog party 2013: Fancy Pants Designs projects…

Jodi from Fancy Pants Designs introduces our next project set,

“Hello, fellow papercrafters!  I am thrilled to be a part of this fabulous Christmas Blog Party!  My name is Jodi Sanford and I am the Owner and Director at Fancy Pants Designs.  I LOVE crafting and I especially love this time of year because there are so many great reasons to craft!  For this post, I wanted to share some handmade cards that I plan on giving away to my close family and friends for the holidays and rather than do the exact same card, I decided to try a similar concept, but change the feel… and I love the options that came using the same line and the same photograph!  It’s amazing how you can see your papers and embellishments from a completely different view if you try different things with it…I hope you’ll enjoy what I’ve come up with.”

For my first card, I went for a more classic and sophisticated look.  I used our Merry Little Christmas papers, resin flowers, small tags, and a ticket from our ticket rolls (cool product with plenty of options).  The card was so quick and easy, yet it turned out beautiful and elegant. The unique and delicate accents on this card will delight anyone you gift it to!

On the second card, I went for a more basic and simple look, but one with some touches of texture to make it pop.  Using our Merry Little Christmas papers, small tags, label stickers and 12×12 stickers and our cool cork shapes, I created a card with a very similar layout, but a completely different feel.  This one was also quick and easy and gave the card a more playful feel–a great card for some of your more easy-going friends and family!

For the third card, I wanted something bold and modern and I think the black pop really helped me achieve that…with the bold black and colorful accents, this card stands out instantly!  For this card I also used our Merry Little Christmas paper, buttons, and 12×12 stickers and our black corrugate paper for texture. Plus, one of my FAVORITE Fancy Pants Designs products..our CHALK TAPE!  That’s right, if you haven’t used it yet, you’ll definitely want some of this (the part where you see the handwritten ‘happy holidays’ and doodles)! The coolest thing about it on the card is that it’s customizable–you can label it however you want quickly and easily using a chalk marker or regular chalk!  This card is stunning and will definitely stand out from others!

We all have different friends and family so I thought this was fun to be able to create customized cards, while using the same picture and concept!  Once I got started, it was easy to design and gave me three completely different looks!  And, if you don’t want to use a photo, you can easily add a coordinating piece of paper there and still enjoy a beautiful card!  Thanks for having me here today!  From all of us here at Fancy Pants Designs, we wish you a very Happy Holiday Season and very “Merry Little Christmas”
