Christmas blog party 2013: Christmas Eve card

Hobby1Our next project comes from Hazel, who designs for The Hobby House. Follow hazel’s step-by-step instructions below to make this pretty Christmas Eve card.

Instructions:

1.     Cut a piece of white card measuring 28.8cm x 14.4cm.  Score across the centre and fold in half to make the base card.

2.     Cut a piece of paper from the Nordic Christmas paper pack measuring 14cm x 14cm and sand the edges. Edge in Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.  Mount onto red card.

3.      Cut two pieces of paper from the Nordic Christmas paper pack measuring 5cm x 14cm and sand the edges.  Edge with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.  Mount onto the patterned paper.

4.     Wrap a piece of gingham ribbon around the centre of the main card and tie a bow.  Mount on to base card.  Add the jingle bells and rhinestone sparkler to the bow.

5.      Die cut a large scalloped circle in red card and sand the edges.  Edge with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.

6.     Sand the edges of the large “Christmas Eve” image and edge with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.  Stick image to centre of red scalloped circle and stick to base card with foam pads.

7.     Die cut five leaves with the Royal Leaves die in green card and sand the edges.  Edge with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.

8.     Edge the Cherry Blossoms and Roses with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.  Fix to top and bottom of picture with silicone glue.  Attach leaves around the edges of the flowers.

9.      Stamp and die cut a sentiment from the Holiday Mini Postage Stamps and sand the edges.  Edge with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and stick to card above the flowers with silicone glue.

10.    Cut out a triangle from the red card and sand the edges.  Edge with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and stick to top right-hand corner.

11.     Apply self-adhesive rhinestones to the top and bottom of the card.
